Sorry Verizon customers. The word is out, and the Nexus One isn’t coming your way. According to Engadget, Google has official said that it will not be selling the Nexus One to Verizon customers. Instead, Google Android fans should grab the recently released Droid Incredible. The Nexus One is still available to T-mobile customers.
The plus side: once again, according to Engadget, the Droid Incredible is supposed to have better multitouch support than the Nexus One.
iPhone 4G on the way soon?

The Internet has been buzzing with news and pictures of what could be the new iPhone due out this June. According the blog posts on Engadget and Gizmodo, the new iPhone will boasts a higher resolution and a front-facing camera.
My take: until I see iPhone OS4 running on it and a direct USB connection/sync to iTunes, this one stays in the rumor mill.

PC maintenance made easy
PCs are useful tools, but like any tool, they require maintenance. (For Windows Vista/Windows 7)
Here are a few things you can do to make your PC work better:
1. Run Check Disk. Go to My Computer and right click your hard drive. Click on “Properties,” then “Tools.” Under Error-checking, click the button that says “Check Now,” then click “Start.”
2. Run Windows Update. Besides Microsoft’s regular updates on the second Tuesday of each month, there may be security patches available that need to be downloaded ASAP. Neglecting these updates can leave your computer vulnerable to attack.
3. MSConfig. (CAUTION, only use this tool if you know what you are doing): Go to the Start Menu. inthe search bar, type “msconfig.” Under the “Startup” tab, click the check-mark on or off the programs you want to start on your computer. Experiment. NOTE: If something stops working, turn the related program back on.
Cinch makes audio recording…well… a cinch.
Introducing Cinch, a web service that uses your phone to record audio and store it in the cloud.
Here’s how it works: users sign into Cinch for the first time using their Facebook/Twitter login info and setup the service to recognize their phone numbers. Then users can call Cinch’s phone number and the service automatically records whatever audio comes through and stores it in organized albums. Cinch users can then download the audio in either .mp3 or .wav formats and post status updates linking to the audio.
Brief: about Foursquare
Have you heard of Foursquare? One part social-network, one part game, Foursquare is a mobile and web-based application that’s part of a growing group of location-based apps.
Here’s how it works:
You become a member of the site and download the app onto your smartphone of choice (Blackberry, iPhone, Palm,Android) and use it to “check-in” at various locations around the globe. Doing this earns you “badges,” all in a competition to become the “mayor” of a given location.
So what’s the incentive for disclosing your location? Besides the game, free stuff of course. Foursquare has made deals with different vendors to give free items (such as a free soda) to reward Foursquare users, particularly those who are the “mayor” of the location.
Seesmic rolls out another update
Twitter app Seesmic, which we told you about a while back, has released another update for its Seesmic for Blackberry twitter application. Twitter apps for Blackberry are a dime-a-dozen, from Ubertwitter to Openbeak, but Seesmic has one killer feature none of the others have: Ping.fm support.
3D, so what?
A few weeks ago, I had the pleasure of attending the Consumer Electronics Show on behalf of a tech news publication known as TechZulu. The talk of the show was 3D. 3D TVs, 3D video games, 3D advertisements.
Given the success of Avatar and its record-breaking two-billion-plus dollar take at the box office, this latest fad is understandable, but stupid.
At CES, I checked out a few of these 3D displays and was underwhelmed. They are neither crisp nor immersive. Why pay a premium for something that is just as enjoyable in 2D as it is in 3D?
Here’s a picture: you and your 10 friends want to watch the latest action film on your big screen, 3D television, but do you have 10 pairs of 3D glasses? No? Guess some are going to be the odd people out.
Why the Apple Tablet isn’t “all that.”
Today, Apple announced its highly-anticipated Tablet, the iPad. The device is being touted as the be-all end-all in portable devices, but I disagree.
Seesmic Look: Twitter for the rest of us

Chrome OS, do you want it?
Wow, today was yet another big day for the tech world. Google announced its Chrome operating system, boasting of better security and speed than current OSs. What makes Chrome so significant is that it is a cloud-based OS which means it will depend on an Internet connection. Each application is also sand-boxed, brining with it greater security. If you want to catch up on the details, check out TechCrunch’s Live Blog of the event.
Google’s new OS will be available sometime in 2010 on new hardware only.
